Speakers Bureau
Everyone has a Story.
The Faces of Homelessness Speakers' Bureau gives people who have experienced homelessness the chance to tell their stories and dispel myths about a highly misunderstood issue. Started in 1996 by the National Coalition for the Homeless, the speakers bureau has become a nationwide program implemented through Americorps volunteers.
The Speakers' Bureau would love to make a presentation at any school, church, community organization, or place of business in Athens, GA and surrounding areas. Here's how the presentation usually works:
1. A short introduction by the AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer.
2. A short video on homelessness.
3. 2-3 panelist tell their stories, around 10min each.
4. Q & A with the audience.
We would love to meet with anyone who is interested. Please contact Jaron by the phone or email listed below.
